Castor Oil for Nails and Cuticles: A 2-Minute Nightly Routine
Share
Hands give away how we treat ourselves. Dry, peeling cuticles and brittle nails are common — and one of the cheapest fixes sits in many kitchens already: castor oil.
Why castor oil suits nails
Castor oil is thick and richly moisturising, so it clings to nails and cuticles instead of evaporating. It conditions the nail plate and softens the skin around it, which helps nails look healthier and less prone to splitting.
The 2-minute routine
- Before bed, put a drop of castor oil on each cuticle.
- Massage into the cuticle and nail bed for a few seconds each.
- Do it nightly. That's it.
Massaging also brings a little circulation to the nail bed — a quiet bonus.
Make it a treatment
Once a week, warm a little castor oil and soak fingertips for five minutes for a deeper condition. Add a drop of a gentle essential oil if you like the routine.
