DIY Eucalyptus-Peppermint Shower Steamers
Share
Bath bombs are for tubs; shower steamers are for the 90% of us who shower. They sit on the floor, melt slowly in the steam, and turn an ordinary shower into a eucalyptus spa. Here's how to make a batch.
What you'll need
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/3 cup citric acid
- Water in a spray bottle
- 15 drops eucalyptus oil + 10 drops peppermint oil
- A silicone mould or muffin tin
How to make them
- Mix baking soda and citric acid in a bowl.
- Spritz lightly with water, stirring, until the mix just holds together when squeezed (don't let it fizz).
- Stir in the essential oils quickly.
- Press firmly into the mould and let dry overnight, then pop them out.
How to use
Place one on the shower floor, away from the direct stream. As it melts in the steam, it releases that bright, opening eucalyptus-peppermint aroma. One steamer per shower.
A note
Keep them away from kids who might mistake them for treats, and avoid if anyone showering is sensitive to essential-oil aromas.
